The Circle

Inside the House.
This is how interesting people meet.

Before every gathering, you receive a written portrait of every person in the room. Not their job title. What fascinates them. What they carry into a conversation. Every person is placed beside the right person. That placement is the product. The circle grows through introduction, not application. Each person inside holds a limited number of nominations per season. The people recruit the people.

You will not see job titles below. You will see what people carry into a room. That is what we compose around.

I know what a good room smells like. Sounds like. Tastes like. I learned it in three kitchens: one in Accra where strangers were fed before they were asked their name, one in Ealing where the door was never locked, and one on the Ligurian coast where lunch began at one and nobody noticed the stars were out until someone reached for a candle. I spent twenty years composing that feeling for other people. Then I came home and realised I could not find it for myself. So I composed the first room.

Why the best conversations happen after midnight, la bella figura as a philosophy of attention, West African hospitality as a way of life, the Ligurian coastline from a racing bike at dawn

Every person is chosen.
Every room is composed.

If reading these profiles made you think of someone, that instinct is the point.

If the room is right, you will know.
